ok... I got a photo radar ticket in the mail the other day stating that I was speeding at 3100 37 st sw, 66 in a 50 zone. the thing about this ticket that bothers me is that between richmond road and 31 ave there is no sign indicating the maximum speed so how the hell am i supposed to know what the speed limit is? i thought it was 60 and now i got a ticket to pay.

im thinking about fighting it, do I have a legitimate chance of beating it?

to clear things up. I got onto 37 st from richmond rd so if there are speed signs father S on 37 st i wouldnt have seen them.

Yeah, that's a hard one kind of. I always would assume if there's no sign then it's probably 50km/hr maximum.

you were still going 66 in what you thought was a 60, it's 50 unless otherwise posted. just pay the fine you were speeding

Once you turn a corner, actual intersection, from let's say 60KPH, once around the corner the speed limit would be 50KPH unless it is reposted at 60KPH

ya im just used to driving at 60 I guess. it aint no big deal i'll just pay it and forget it.

I'll definately keep in mind it's 50 unless posted for the next time though

was the road you turned off of 60km/hr? If so I'd go to court myself.

I agree. I seem to recall something about a posted speed limit being in effect until it's posted otherwise. If not, every time you turned a corner the speed limit would change to the default for that road type, and every road would just have a "book value" so to speak. There would be no need for actual signs.

You'd still get a ticket for doing 6 over, but it's better than 16.

Of course, since there's no demerits with photo, it just might not be worth going to court, just to potentially drop 10km/hr off the ticket.
