View Full Version : Where to fix hail dents?

So my car got a number of dents on the roof & hood (but only a couple easily seen) after the hail. I'm just wondering if I take this to the insurance, would they just send to the paintless dent place to fix or would send it to an autobody shop to fix & re-paint? I'll have to pay 250 deductible so if they take it to the dent place, I may just take it to there myself to fix the "visible" ones.

Also, anybody recommend a good paintless dent place?

Thanks.

Dent Clinic off 32 AVE!!! I would highly recommend this shop if you need to fix any dents or if you still do...Reason #1: THEY DONT TRY TO RIP YOU OFF! doesn't matter what you drive their cost are pretty much standard from car to car. Personally i checked a few places before i went to the Dent Clinic.. DNT off memorial give me an estimate which was about twice as much as what Dent Clinic gave me!!! just because i was driving an 07 BMW. And personally i think DNT charges what ever they feel like charging...given the chance to make some cash they'll take it to the full extent!

I don't recommend fix Auto on McLeod. I had work done there and had all of the problems pictured above ... and more.

Given a same size dent on two cars in similar position...say a 2000 Honda Civic and a 2007 BMW...am sure the Dent Clinic would charge the same amount...what your tryin to show above is something totally different. Am not trying to say the cost to repair any dent is the same here.

And I know, there's only ONE come back to that question; as I've stated many times myself, in order to compare prices with PDR, you need to compare it with the exact same damage at different shops right? EXACT THING AM TRYING TO GET AT

Just because your paying more...dosen't always mean your gettin better work here...some places obviously try to make a little bit more money

WOW...TomcoPDR i don't see why your getting all bent out of shape for. From some of the photos you've shown...its apparent that you've done some great work. If you feel like you wasted your life and money for nothing...by all means feel free. Not everyone in your industry is as qualified, honest, and hard working as you!

Thank you ALL for all your comments and opinion. It helps to confirm my decision of which shop to have my car fixed. Thanks TomCoPDR for your compilation of info on other related threads.

Costwise, I'll still have to pay the insurance deductible anyway, so I'll pick the shop that you all have most positive (quality) experience and satisfaction. I've never had a PDR repair for hail damages, so it's quite new to me. After hearing from you all, and the appraiser recommendation ( appraisal), I'm more positive to go through the PDR fix. And hopefully it'll be a satisfaction review later on.
