I'm so challenged when it comes to keeping up on new songs and stuff. when I had sirius radio it was much easier that way. is there certain sites you guys go to to find out about up and coming new artists, and new hot tracks that just came out?? help a guy out..

i just pay for sirius, it's too much of a hassle finding new music. too bad the sound quality sucks though.

what kind of music are you into?

I was looking for good sites as you are, but Hip Hop specific. I just googled "top rap albums", "top rap singles" etc. I found a great site for hip hop that lets you preview tracks, gives info on artists, reviews, upcoming release dates etc.

http://www.hiphopdx.com/index

If you are looking for more of a general, all types of music, I'd say check out Billboard.com. You can see the current top singles or albums separated by different catagories.

I'm into lots of different genres so its hard to specify, I mainly listen so dance/trance type music but I like rap, rock, pop, acoustic, and so on.

Some of the crap that passes for music nowadays...like that Snoop & Akon with the chorus "I wanna f**k you." Completely self-parodying.

It may sound gay..

But..

Myspace? Lots of the bands put up blogs
to upcoming singles from their upcoming CD's.

www.pandora.com
You enter in the artists you like and it builds a playlist based on songs from those artists and new artists similar to your choices. It also displays the artist name, track title and cover art so you can go get the songs you like.

Just make up a random zip code and enter it, that's all it wants. Then you can use it.

That used to work, but now they go by your ISP...if you have Shaw your ISP shows that you're in Canada and you can't use Pandora.

That "Rick Dee's" weekly top 40..... if your into that mainstream sort of music. Otherwise Sirius. I love it, although the trance-house music stations are idiotically repetitive at times. :nut:

The rock channels are pretty good though, like Octane and Buzzsaw.

For me I watch that BPM.tv, listen to 1.fm dance station and, my one of my favorites for the last 7 years Radio FG from France. If I'm in the mood for house and party music beats.

I forgot to mention CJSW late night on the weekend.
