has anyone had a problem with cold intakes in calgary?
with all these rainfalls and frequent snow, i'm afraid to install a CAi
unless is there a solution to cai receiving water?

it takes a freaking ton of water to hydrolock an engine... stay away from puddles as deep as your car and you'll be fine

Get an air bypass valve

or get a Weapon R intake thing I don't remember the name but it hooks up to your Sort Ram intake and then it just works like a CAI and when it rains or somthing you can put a plate over the hole and unhook it form your Sort Ram
or just get a SRI and using the same idea as the Weapon R make one using heating ducts:dunno:

The only way the engine is going to hydrolock is if the intake actually goes into some larger body of water, that is, a puddle, or a large wave created by nearby cars. Imagine sticking the end of a vacuum cleaner into your bath tub. A spray of water onto the intake is not going to be anywhere nearly enough to hyrdolock the engine.

Driving through a puddle, or snow on the road, not a problem. I had one on my old car for two years without issue. However, driving through this, and you're screwed.

I removed mine because I could not stand the sound of it. When VTEC engaged it sounded like my car was sucking in air though a big slurpee straw.
