As title states, my absolute PRIDE AND JOY is up for sale. These are getting hard to come by. This particular car has a BEAUTIFUL body with very shiny paint (most shiny than new cars). Plus a leather interior that looks stunning for a car this age. This is my baby and I have taken really good care of it. This is originally a BC car. I went to Vancouver to get it. Loaded with the usual options, including leather, AC, and T tops. There's 1 or 2 teeny tiny dings on the driver's side (VERY VERY TINY). That's it. Which is amazing for a car this old. Rock chips are minimal, and paint is mostly original.
Some extra include:
- Custom 16" Mille Miglia rims with Kumho 712 (60%F/40%R)-- no other MR2 in the world has these rims.
- Stock 14" rims with newish AS tires
- Tokico 5 way adjustable struts
- ST progressive springs (nice ride)
- ST sway bars (BEEFY!)
- Apex'i intake
- Genuine TRD muffler
- Leather RAZO shifter
- Manual boost controller (hardly ever used cause it causes it to guzzle gas like crazy)
- Autometer boost gauge and AF on pod
- TRD short shifter
- Bosch E Code H4 conversion headlamps
- Pioneer Premier CD head unit with MB Quart components and dual 8" alpine subs in a non-obtrusive custom enclosure behind seats
- Alpine and factory alarm
- Turbo timer wired to the radiator fans
- Momo figher steering wheel
- Some stock parts (like springs and stock sub, etc...)
Do keep in mind this is a 17 year old car. These are the some of the issues:
- Weak synchros like all 91/92 MR2s. Will only grind if you shift really quick into 2nd or 3rd and your foot isn't fully depressing the clutch. Otherwise really good.
- Power mirrors only go up and down, not sideways. I suspect a broken wire at the switch.
- Sticky starter - stays inside the engine for about 30 secs after driving, so you hear a click click click... sound. Never bothered me.
- Leaks here and there, about a few drops every week
- Only 1 minor accident parking lot incident, no body work done AFAIK, just completely replaced the affected parts, which were right fender and door (yellow donor door)
- Turbo consumes oil. The car has never blown any smoke, but I still need to pour in maybe 2L every 3-4000kms depending on driving conditions :D.
- One of the rims is out of round. It's on the rear right now, and doesn't seem to bother me. But I was quoted $125 to fix it at Alberta Wheel Repair.
Things I have replaced other than mentioned:
- New drivers power window actuator
- New rear cross member (one of the welds came undone, and the control arm couldn't be tightened - seems to be a design flaw)
- Rebuilt rear calipers
- Some other small miscellaneous parts in the interior
Why am I selling? Changing situations in my life (dogs, a baby on the way) dictates that I can't keep this car forever. I would love to, but I just bought a bigger car and need to pay for that. I originally brought this car over from Vancouver in 2000 with about 150,000kms on the odo. All maintenance was done by me.
This car is my baby, and I have nothing to hide. Ask me anything about this car and I will answer as best I can. I get compliments on this car ALL THE TIME. From junior high school girls (don't ask) to 80 year old men. They are always stunned to learn this is a 1991.
NEW BATTERY INSTALLED.
Asking $SOLD. NO TEST PILOTS. ONLY SERIOUS OFFERS. NO LOWBALLERS.
