2002's have the exhaust in the middle.

In my opinion, the best one for track is the 1987ish 325i - the engine is powerful for such a small car, and the suspension is very good.

there are other ones in the 80's, i think they are 5 series, they have them almost in the middle, just slightly to one side.

i would go with one of the 325 variants as well. my buddy has one lowered w/ dinan chip and it is fairly quick and handles like a dream.

A nice 325 e30 would be a nice choice.

One's with the exhaust coming out of the middle would be an e28 (5 series)

If you can find an old BMW 2002 or a Datsun 510 they make interesting toys for the track. Parts are still relatively easy to find for them, and they are easy to work on. An older 911 could be entertaining as well. Just about any Mustang or F body makes a good project car for racing as well (this was the route I took).

I've got an E21 320i with an aftermarket turbo for you. It is definetly a project car and probably needs a Donor for body panels... unless you really like fiberglass. The engine runs great and the boost is solid, but it does need some tuning.

Let's make a deal.

Here's the only picture I've been able to drudge up. She needs a new windshield too as you can see.
