Where can I get some decent screw-type banana plugs for a decent price? I liked the ones on monoprice.com but I read on some forums that they aren't very good cause the screw doesn't hold onto the wire very well or something.

I think this should be in Ask Leo.

I had a feeling that someone would post something in regards to the "screw". In case there was some confusion, I am referring to this...

its a dollar homie just get it and see how you like it,

you should probably be able to find this at a&b sound or soundsurround though. If not try Any place that sells high quality sound equipment.. the special home stereo stores will more than likely carry it

I actually have both styles from monoprice (screw and solder). Both work fine, the solder you can screw in as long as you have decent gauge wire.

if your worried about the wire coming out, why not get the screw type ones, screw the wire in and then add a bead of solder inside?

They're a bit overrated, unless you're going to be constantly unplugging them. If you ARE going to be constantly unplugging them, get some good ones, as the cheap ass ones won't hold up and you'll end up breaking off the tip in your plug. Monster makes a decent set, but you'll pay for them for sure.
