I was wondering if an 86 corolla gts is an actual AE86 and does it have to be that year only? Also how hard is the JDM turbo swap?

haha...if he's asking those questions i seriously doubt he wants the headache of dealing with a standalone management system with 2 FI applications running in tandem brah

because sitting there going blah blah you're a newbie go look it up on google.

you dont have to spend more than 2 seconds on clubsi or some other site to know that's an insult, so dont backpedal. like you have something soooo much better to do than answer someones 'newbie' questions.

give me a break.

the "AE86" was made from 1985-1987 in north america, there were two different models avaliable, the SR5 and the GTS. The GTS is the one to get cause it already has the 4AGE and the nicer body parts. The SR5 came with the 4AC carby engine, which can be swapped out for a 4AGE. If you want more info on motor swaps and just general info on these cars check out http://www.club4ag.com/ or http://pub25.ezboard.com/bdorikaze

the GTS comes with a 4age the SR5 comes with some shitty carburated motor thats a SOHC.

the only AE86's avaliable with the limited slip differential (LSD) are the ones from Japan and the USA. Most people swap the engine and supercharger in from a MR2SC which has the 4AGZE with a beefier bottom end and a supercharger. Some people have put the 20 valve 4AGE in the AE86 which needs alot of custom fabrication to swap in. To improve horsepower with the stock 4AGE you can add a bigger diameter exhaust and a cold air intake which will increase the power with out having to spend too much money.

give me a break. no, i actually i DONT have anything better to do, which is why i answered his questions in the first place. i just gave him a good link for info, the same link that i used for info on the same topic. i dont see how trying to help someone makes me a smartass...would it be better to not help the newbie?

if u are looking for a way to pick a fight, at least do it better.

Don't forget the GTS has disc brakes all around while the SR5 has drums in rear. SR5 I believe has not as nice of an interior.

Oh sorry then, I completely misinterpreted the context of what you were saying. Normally everyone that tells someone to use google is trying to be a smartass.

I'd think sites like club4ag and whatnot would probably be better at providing information.
