I'm moving in September, so I cancelled my YMCA membership, but they aren't going to let me in for the rest of the month, and there's no way I can pay their drop-in rate everytime. Anyone know of any gyms that have a cheap drop in rate or possibly a cheap monthly/no contract rate?

If you go to cardel place in the northwest you can just buy passes and use them when ever you want. They dont expire.

Damn man it's so expensive. I'm used to paying 35 bucks a month at the Y, and I go to two locations since I'm all over the city. Cardel I would only be able to go to half the week, and the 10 pass is 90 bucks.

sorry but you're not going to find a drop in gym anywhere for that cheap... should have waited until the end of the month to cancel your membership

Not sure if you work downtown or not but I think you can get a 3 month pass at Fountain park in Gulf Canada Square for like $150. Otherwise if you want, I have a bunch of passes for Cardel place that I can sell you for $6 a piece.

Fitness on 5th downtown in the YWCA. If you're a student you can get a 1 month pass for $42.00. Believe it is ~$60 if you're not a student.

City of Calgary pools that have workout facilities are cheapest.
Killarny was $3.50 last time I went.

Actually they just ripped me and some coworkers off not cancelling withdrawals for months after cancellation forms were signed. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone, ever.

Thanks for the tip on Killarney ashee. I will check it out tomorrow. That covers that area of the city.

Does anyone know of any similar places in the far SW?

Cardel Place is over priced for drop in. I used to have an annual membership and I found the gym to be very small.

City of Calgary Pools are $5.25 regularily and then $2.00 on Sunday after 1:00/1:30 (depending on the pool). It works out to $7.25/week if you only work out twice a week like me. I stopped going because I got a membership at the YMCA - work pays for it so....
