Is this possible through AMA to tow a vehicle from my house to the shop?

Although the vehicle has been sitting for 2 yrs, un reg/un insured?

I believe AMA will tow any vechile because membership follows the member, not the vehicle, and it does not need to be registered and/or insured

Put it on a flat bed if you're worried.

The AMA will tow an unregistered vehicle, but you don't get a freebie out of it like you would with a vehicle registered in your name. You have to pay for mileage and the call no matter what.

AMA does tow unregistered vehicles, but it'll cost you, gotta call them. The car doesn't have to be registered to you, I've had them tow a few friends' cars back to their place, no charge.

AMA doesn't check registration, they just want to see an active plate. so, if you can make it look like it was a runner in the last few months, just slap a plate from another car on it and call the AMA, tell them it won't start and you need to tow it. If the driver wants to try boosting it, tell him that when you parked it, it was smoking, and your mechanic recommended it be towed in and not messed with - that will usually back him off. But the car has to look roadworthy.

Good luck.
