I want to record TV on my laptop and bring it in to work on midnight shifts and watch TV and movies and what not.... after reasearching extensively, I cannot find a highly recommended USB TV Tuner... The best one I found online was discontinued!

Does anyone have one they would recommend? Looking to program my macbook to record TV and movies for me and then take it in to work and watch them! Thanks. Oh, and I have windows on my laptop, so software can be for windows too.

My laptop won't take a PCI card either...

If it's tv shows you are looking for it would be way easier to just download them... check www.eztvefnet.net and see if they have what you want.

I know. I've downloaded my TV for the last 4 years. I live in a small town with a low limit on my bandwidth, and a crappy internet connection.

I bought this one back in Sep 2006.

It's not great but it gets the job done. It records in Mpeg2 format (I think) so recordings take up lots of space. 1 hour is about 2.5 gb. But it's small and is USB 2.0 so it easily plugs into a laptop and it's relatively cheap. I had some problems with the pack-in software so I just d/l a different program.
