serious inquiries only!!!

http://www.56crew.com/galleries/RX-7/images/105_0573.jpg

obviously with the low kms i'm not selling at market prices.

5sp, black leather, factory bose system, never been modded with exception of wheels, and eibach springs, everything else is what you get on fd's.

no door dings, chips.

interior smells just the same as new.

I'm guessing $30-35K? Clean car! Do you still have the stock rims and is it a R1 by any chance?

ecstasy_civic
06-27-2003, 04:34 PM
nope, touring, thats why its got the bose stereo and leather.

It doesn't have the R1 front airdam spoiler, so I am venturing a guess and saying no. Also I think it the R1 doesn't come with the Bose system and sunroof...could be wrong though. It screams Touring edition to me.

Regardless, very nice and clean car.

EDIT: ecstasy_civic beat me to it in idenitifying the FD

Oh I see... thanks for the info. I'm learning something new about FD's everyday. Do you know how rare the 93 R1 and 94-95 R2's are in Canada? I can never seem to locate any for sale here? There's the odd one that pops up once in a while in the US.

30k would be a bit much wouldn't it?

ecstasy_civic
06-28-2003, 12:32 AM
not really considering the mileage, i would say 25-27 for sure.

Wow, I've seen this same one for sale three times already.

Looks awesome. I remember seeing it in Canada Trader last year for around 35 000 or so. Can't recall exact price.

Bump for a nice ride

lol... that's funny... i've never advertised the car before.

i'm sure there's other red fd's but pretty sure they don't have 33,000 original kms like mine. and i highly doubt they're "virgin's" like mine... i.e. stock with no hack job mods. :)

thanks for the bump though. :D

Wow, that's weird. There was one in Canada Trader last year with 32 000 or so KM, and I think CelicaGirl's cousin bought it (Not sure if he did, just thought that was the same one listed in the trader with low KM). There was a red RX-7 for sale on this forum about 6 months ago. The KM's were still in the 30 000 range (Original KM). I've been trying to find the thread, but since the old marketplace is no longer on here, I don't know where the old threads went.

so why are you selling it?

cya
07-25-2003, 01:18 PM
various reasons...

too many cars,
doesn't get driven much (obviously, lol),
not enough space at the apartment,
bike,
saving for a house,

etc etc.

if it was just one reason i'd say screw it and keep the car cause it's an unreal feeling to drive. but for me... as much as i'd hate to admit it... it just makes a little more sense to not have so many toys.

are you looking to buy? i prefer to talk person to person about pricing so feel free to e-mail me and i will give you my number.

for a rough idea think of it this way.

typical beat up rx7 - $25,000
new paint - $4,000 (provided no body work needed)
new suspension/bushings - $2,000
new carpet - $500
original floor mats - $200
new leather for seats - $500
restore/refinish dash - $500
rebuilt motor - $3000
rebuilt turbos - $1000

the list goes on and on to make the typical rx7 similar condition to mine. the list above is already almost $37,000 and still not the same and still no wheels. wheels cost me almost $4,000 a few months ago.

but my price for the car will be under $35,000

Hey now! I'm glad I in no way resemble that remark!

But I've come to the conclusion that my supra leads the pack in 'gotta-haves' and the FD has come in a close second. (That, and I'm afraid to step foot in the RX7 shop for atleast another year)

No soup for me. Nah, I think that crappy SoundsAround alarm that went in fried all the wiring.. which blew the apex seals on the rotar... which blew the engine... which fried the circuit board... which made every frickin' wire melt into one gelatinous blob. Oh... and it f*cked the powersteering and the belt broke and wrapped itself around... something. The poor FC was in the shop for about 3 months and we had only owned it for 2 weeks from the shop and it was painfully still under warranty. Poor guys.

Moral of the story: NEVER go to SoundsAround. They suck goat ass.

No offense, but a car the caliber of a RX7 shouldn't need any of that work done being only 10 years old. At most they should have 100K on them, and being summer driven only should still shine like new.

I'm not saying your car isn't awesome, and not worth it. It IS worth a LOT more than your average one. But I don't think you can compare items like that because it shouldn't need most of those items.

Since you said you're just saving for a house, maybe wait until our dollar goes up a bit, then sell it to someone in the states where people have the $$$ to pay for this sweet ride. It should only cost 1000-1500 to ship it down there....

cya
07-28-2003, 10:42 AM
this is exactly why i originally chose not to post the price.... because most people out there don't understand unless they see the car in person.

put it this way... try putting the typical 10 yr old rx7 into an auction like the barret jackson... think it will fit in? well... mine does as far as overall condition of vehicles go. enough said.

hehe buy yourself an FD for 20K and bring it back up to the conditions cya's is in then we'll what you say. In most cases if you buy an FD have some money set aside for basically a new engine and other restoration repairs needed on an FD. Summer driven cars are still affected by the tests of time
Anything under 35K is a a good deal considering you're getting a rare incredible sports car that's basically brand new and would kick the shit out of any other wanabe sports car that people are buying new and paying 35K for these days

Have you tried advertising in the auto trader - specifically BC/Ontario? People there generally have more money and would gladly pay a premium for a car like this....

actually i have 3 people wanting the car right now... just bumping it up for others who haven't visited the board lately since whoever hands over the money first gets it. :)
