Alright so I have one cable outlet in my living room, now when I try to splice this outlet to my tv and modem/wireless router the tv goes fuzzy and the internet doesnt work. When I just have the cable to tv or internet seperately it works just fine.

Now I've bought a new splicer (1 input to 2 outputs) but that wasnt the problem. The only other things I can think of is maybe the wire is too long, or crappy wire. Or maybe i need a special splicer and wire? Ha I have no idea, input is appreciated :D

I had the same problem, I called Shaw, they came in the next day and I have no idea what they did (I wasn't watching) but in the end there was a splicer and both TV and internet worked.

you are using poor quality splitters. You'll have to suck it up and let Shaw do it for you.

You have to use a 5 to 2400Mhz splitter and probably get yourself some RG6 cable as well for better results.

Just call shaw, a lot of the times where people are complaining about slow speeds etc. is because people dont know what they are doing. They go to the dollar store and buy cheap splitters and cables and think it will work. I'm guessing either you have the splitter backwards, or have shitty ass cables for neither of them to work when you have both of them plugged in.

haha splitter isnt backwards, I may not be a doctor but I'm not that stupid, "shitty ass cables" might be the problem

Actually they will book you a specific time slot, usually two hours (ie. 9-11, 11-1 etc.) and they came out as late as 9 pm in Calgary. And their service calls are free so you might as well have them come out, do it right and use the proper equipment.

I believe you can get splitters for free at Shaw. RG6 cables don't need to be upgraded FYI..
