Help With Firefox

I was wondering if anyone out there could please help me out with two problems i am having with mozilla firefox.

the first thing is that for some reason it wont scroll up and down on the page with the mouse pad (on a laptop) with my firefox...on my internet explorer...it allows me scroll up on down on pages by rolling my finger up and down on the mouse pad

the second problem is that every time i try to open a firefox page a "user account control" box appears and it asks for permission to continue opening the internet brower. it never used to do this until i deleted and re-installed it.

i am currently running windows vista... does anyone have any ideas....thanks in advance

1, it sounds like Vista is missing your mouse drivers.

2, sounds like vista security software. when i figgure out how to disable mine, i will let you know as well.
