92 Civic DX Dashlight Problem.

The dashlight on my friend's 92 Civic DX has a problem; there are times it is on, and times it isn't. What are some ways to check the problem? The only way I know is the look at the fuse to see if there is a connection problem with the fuses. Any other ideas?

These civics have a common problem with the dimmer switch. If you look on honda-tech there are a few guides on how to bypass it if you decide not to replace it.
