Hello, myself and a buddy are looking to sign up for a 1 year membership with Gold's Gym (NE).

We would like to have personal trainers. And can pay in full, this is what they offered us; have you seen any better deal, and have gotten offered something else?

1 Year Membership
9 Personal Trainer Sessions

$775 + Tax

This is if both of us sign up, and pay up front. Anyone else treated differently?

Thanks

comes out to like $65/month before tax. Most people that go there and myself pay about $50/month. So you're paying roughly
an extra $175 for those 9 training sessions.
Which is ok, if you're not to comfortable around the gym and need
some pointers on work outs.

I think the leisure center is like 400 for a year plus personla. I work for the city so i get it for like 200. Plus you get the pool and gyms.

Northgate is a great gym, great staff. Its 24 hrs too. The average monthly fee at golds is 35-50 per month, depending on when you signed up and what plan you got.

With 9 personal trainer sessions, that sounds like a good deal.

When I was a trainer at Gold's, we didn't have a 9 session package, but we had a 6 and a 12 and from what I can remember, the 6 one was around $55/session and the 12 was about $45/session... so it would be worth it I think.

Do you really need a trainer?

IM pretty sure if you serached hard enough on the internet you would find out all the information that you could ever want. It would take you a good day or 2 of looking around and reading but in the end you know alot more(the trainer wont tell you as much) and you wont need to waste your money on them.

Just thought id throw it out to you.

wow 65 a month is pretty steep for a gym. Not even Heavens downtown charges that much. You should just sign up for 1 year and then get someone from the forums who trains at the NE Golds to show you training and skip the extra 20 bucks a month.

Actually 65 isn't all that much anymore. I pay about $100 a month for gym membership and I dont' get a personal trainer.

I was actually gonna mention WOW, It's not fancy but it is dirt cheap and not once have I bin left stranded by them not having a machine that I needed. I signed up roughly 2 years ago and my monthly payments are $21, taxes included.

I don't use the trainers there so I can't give an opinion of them.

I've been going to WOW (aka 'The Gym') for about 7 years now.

It's never super busy like a World Health or Golds even on Monday evenings theres always machines and its never a fight for the weights or benches. Theres also a few pretty serious guys/gals that work out there and compete. But if you're going to a gym to look at girls there aren't many.

For the price you cant beat it (especially if you have a student card)

Do you have access to the other 4 world Gyms (excluding the Bay Club and the fancy one in the NW) with that membership?

I just looked at a basic at the one in the SW by Mt Royal and their two best deals were

35 down and 54/mth no contract

129 down and 44/mth 2 years

but you got access to all the other gyms

Also was that for students or non students?

Thx

I am so wasting my gym membership right now :banghead:

Sorry, just wanted to type something before going to bed.

To the OP, you can't really put a price to your health. I'm paying ABOUT $50/month @ WHC (prepaid) so really you're only about $10-15/month more
