How big is the piece you need to replace? Siding is actually pretty easy, especially when you're only replacing a small section.

I accidentally melted some siding last summer when I had my barbque too close to the house.

As long as you can get siding that's a reasonable color match, it's only a matter of cutting out the old pieces, and cutting the new ones to fit. I'd recommend trying it yourself if you're even remotely handy.

Edit: Forgot to mention a key point, which is that I'd never done anything with siding, ever, in my life, before trying this on my brand new house.
