www.ted.com

Pretty good stuff for the grey matter. It's full of 20 minute clips from an annual convention where big names from a wide span of fields give 20 minute taks on their projects or areas of expertise.

I was just told about it today, but here are two interesting ones. Post up what you guys find, cause there's a lot of stuff on there.

Some good ones:
Jeff Hawkins on brain science (http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/125)

Dan Gilbert on synthetic happiness (http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/97)

pity post...

I love TED by the way, found it a while back and check once in a while.

The website is so superbly crafted too, makes the discussions very accessible.

^ Amazing, powerful imagery there and a big time message for all.

Here's the Bill Clinton one: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/85

The cosmos one is good. I like how he puts our world today into perspective. In the past 100 years of the last 1 000 000 there has been a spike and an extreme acceleration in the way earth is degrading -- it's at an all time high. Prior to this spike, the sun burning out in 6 billion years was going to end life on earth. At the rate seen over the last 100 years humanity will destroy itself before the sun does.

All 3 of these are pretty sobering.
