I know the rules about spottings, and I am generally the one with pics. (outside of L8braker)

Yesterday I went to go grab some food, yet had no exact idea where I was going to get it. I live in Killarney and went for a "Sunday drive" through my neighborhood and made my way to 17th ave East. About half way down the hill I spotted a Hyundai Tiburon in my rear view. From what I could see, which was only the front (obviously) I noticed the main body was a darker color, and the kit on the front was white or off white. The best part was the light bar on top.

Approaching 14st I am first at the lights and he is a couple cars back. Part way up 17th I look and see him directly behind me. At this time I figured that someone had a really cheezy idea on how they wanted to mod their car. To each their own I say.

There is no coincidence to a specific car being behind me all the way up 17th as we all know it is mostly one lane due to parking. At the last second I decided I was going to take a left on 4th st and take the alley (entrance to Rose and Crown) and loop back to get some extra good Kim Anh. It was as if this guy was following me as he also took the alley and followed. Due to being lowered and kitted it took him longer to get on the sidewalk. It wasn't until he was turning in the alley behind me that I notice the whole side of the car had some sort of coat of arms and POLICE written all over each side.

Has anyone seen this? Is it a promo vehicle for some Police agency? Maybe just a different way of modding a car. :dunno:

It just seemed all too wierd. I lost him in the alley due to on coming traffic I was able to avoid.

Just curious that's all.

Why would a police car be lowered and kitted?

LOL

That's the one Edmonton Police had back in 2005.

There is a white, debadged Mazda 3 with a lot of modifications (complete with rear wing) running around the city. The important thing to notice is the uniformed officer in the driver's seat.

I'll ask the questions around here!

You know Arian...I am not too sure. Hence my thread.

I know CPS has promotional vehicles for things like recruiting (H2) and some liason constables will have D.A.R.E. vehicles for visiting schools etc.

The Decalling on the side did not seem like it matched something from CPS. Everything I saw was in my rear view, so details are limited.

I can just imagine the car trying to chase someone down.

The car was unmarked. Spotted cruising in traffic late Sunday afternoon. I was driving behind it for quite a while in the NW.

There was the Cool Cars Cruising for Cancer on Sunday, and that Tiburon was there. It was a good event, but it rained and we had way less cars than were expected. There were supposed to be 2500 cars, but only 600 showed I believe.

They need it to catch all those "fast looking" ferrari's outside of town. Maybe they could source it through ZR?

Yeah, has this been confirmed by anyone? I've never seen/heard of it before.

It was a 45-50 year old guy driving a slammed rice-mobile with 20" chrome wheels, full body kit, wing, and a fart can. Perhaps, but I don't think so.

I think it's actually pretty smart on the part of the EPS and CPS to try and relate to the tuner scene. When you think of the stereotypes that exist between both groups (cops and tuners) it doesn't take a genius to figure out why they're trying to project a different image.

The reality is that cops are simply doing their jobs upholding various aspects of the law, and more often than not someone bitches when the arm of the law is forced upon them. In some rare cases cops act out of line, but people also forget that cops are still PEOPLE underneath the gun and uniform.

Anyways, the Tib isn't my style but I think it's a good effort just the same- the quality looks good and it's done pretty clean.
