Ok...soo.. I need your help on this one.

Here are my choices:

2002+ 1.8t or vr6 jettas or Golfs

2007 civic si

2008 Lancer GTS.

What I am looking for is an everyday car that is fun to drive. I am not looking to rice it out. Maybe make it a more of a sleeper. Tell me what you think and why, and if there is alot of aftermarket under the hood upgrades. Personaly I love a car that you know is quick but it looks stock but is a total sleeper. If there is a car that is not here and you think I should look at please share!

NOT A FAN OF MAZDAS SORRY.

Thanks soooo much you guys and gals!!

I drive a 2007 civic from time to time, and I absolutely hate it. I've gone on rants about how terrible it is and I'm not going to do it again, but to sum it up, poor fit and finish, poor visibility.

Test drive them both, pick whatever you think will be better for day to day driving. :dunno:

1.8T for sure- the most fun, and that's what matters.

+1 for jetta as well, especially the 1.8t. they are pretty fast to begin with (considering its a vw), lots of aftermarket support, and out of the three that you just named, imo has the best interior for everyday use. but that's just my opinion.

I know What would be the best model of the jetta with the 1.8t. Now is the v6 better the the 1.8t ect. less engine trouble? I heard that the golf is geared diff then the jetta and is lighter? thanks

you couldn't make the lancer much of a sleeper. It would take a lot of work, trust me I know

I would go with a VW, but I think there are better sleepers than those on your list.

Examples include:

* Any Corolla, Cressida, Crown, Corona or Camry.
* Datsun 1600, 1200, Stanza, or 180B (frequently equipped with turbo Nissan engines)
* Any of the RX series Mazdas (except the RX-7, which looks far too sporty to be a sleeper.)

Also worthy of note are many older European cars, which might be considered 'grandpa cars' by your average 'boy racer' but are more than capable of respectable performance, especially some of the sportier 80's BMW's, Peugeots, Citroens and Alfa Romeos.

haha, its all good, I edited it to include examples.

Also I liked my 1991 toyota camry I had.

If you can get the next gen ones (i know they were around 1996) with the V6 they are quick and can be pretty quick

1.8t or 24v vr6 or tdi ....all can be chipped. The tdi gets retarded tor. gains..which would you go with.

he's looking at the 06 Si and a 07 GTS and you go on and tells him to buy an oldass pos? I highly doubt thats what he's looking for.

Go with the 1.8T

I think the Civic would be the nicest car (nice interior, quiet, solid chassis, reliable, and good resale) but the 1.8T would be the easiest to make fast.

not too sure about the VW, and they usually break down soon. Civic and Lancer both good. I like lancer more as the handling is great.
