PLEASE HELP>

All right....So I have made my mind up on the maker of the next car that I will be buying(VW). This is where I am now lost I don't know if I should go with a Jetta or a Golf, I heard the the golf is geared differently then the Jetta. Also I am lost on engines...the TDI or 1.8t or VR6 they all have the pros and cons. I will be doing some engine mods.,,Chip, intake, ect. The Tdi chipped with a bigger Turbo( Stage 2) has about 180 hp but the torge is mad. 1.8t chipped and turbo good results as well. VR6 is like butter pulls at any RPM and sounds like ***, but more $$ to mod and to get bigger gains, also heavier. So please help me, tell me what you know about these engines.

If you know any thing about models of each please share ...ex. GTI, GLI....ect
(oh ya I have checked out most of the VW clubs websites)
Thanks sooo much you guys!

..........................................................
I heard the 08 rabbit will have 170 hp

I personally would go for the 1.8T mainly because it can easily be made faster than the VR6 for fairly cheap...and I wouldn't get a TDI because I've heard that if you modify it you can run into trouble because our Diesel over here is much worse quality than the diesel in Europe. But some people have been fine, like beyond member "bart" has a fast lil golf TDI..
The VR6 is a very solid engine as well though, I guess it depends on how much modding you plan to do.

1.8t, so easy to mod, and responds really well to certain things, chip it and gain around 40 hp and 50-60 trq

jetta is a bit heavier than the gti, but do u want a 4 door or a 2 door is really what it comes down to, u can make both look really good, and u could also turbo or supercharge a vr6, or throw a bigger turbo into a 1.8 and have 300+ whp!

TDIs are hard to find. Get a 1.8T.

I personally would get a TDI. You can get around 200 HP fairly easily which isn't really a lot... but the torque is nuts. Good economy, and plenty of pep for the street.
