The migratory-pattern one is mine, but it's yellow not pearl white (and mine is currently up for sale - there's an ad here on Beyond).

The only completely pearl white one in Calgary that I'm aware of is owned by a men's wear shop, but it has a giant gold lion on each side (were those pics photo-shopped to remove the "free advertising"?!?!).

Why would someone pay more than $9k for an S-Cargo?!?

Here's a few reasons:

1. They are one of the most unique vehicles you'll see on our roads. More non-car-enthusiast people will notice an S-Cargo before a Skyline.

2. They are rare vehicles (with only 12,000 units manufactured between 1989 and 1991, even less than the Nissan Figaro) and they're getting rarer by the minute. They've become a collector's item. A good quality S-Cargo actually fetches a higher price in Japan than a similar quality Skyline R32 GTS-t.

3. More practical than a Smart Car... you can stack about 6-8 bodies in the back, or haul up to 300kg.

4. It's quite entertaining to see so many people get into near-accident scenarios because they're gawking at the S-Cargo instead of paying attention to the road or the upcoming stop sign, or the oncoming semi-truck.

5. Believe it or not, the cute li'l S-Cargo is more of a chick magnet than any sports car could ever be. That alone could be worth the extra money for some guys.

i dont think ill believe this one, unless its a pity date?
the S-cargo is sick, but i think a lambo will you get you more girls, or even a porsche.

While both cars attract female attention, I'd think the ones that go for the Lambo and Porsche guys are nothing but gold diggers out looking for implant funding.

I could believe it. A cute car like that will probably really disarming because you won't come off as being too cocky. I also think he was comparing the S-Cargo to something more along the lines of a skyline..as he mentions.

I've had reports that a hummer (or maybe it was a jeep-like vehicle?) draws far more chicks than a ferrari/lambo.

Uh, yeah, the "puke green" one (Nissan's official colour name is "Dark Yellow") is mine.

I only own the one S-Cargo... never saw a red one up in Citadel. Are you sure didn't witness me driving blistering fast down Nosehill Drive as the S-Cargo reached terminal velocity at max friction, causing the whole vehicle to glow intensely red?

It could happen, y'know.

S-Cargo stands for Small Cargo, but Nissan also had a good sense of humour (at one time) and was most likely poking fun at the French as it is believed that the Citroen 2CV was the design inspiration for the S-Cargo.

http://www.2cvimports.com/

The snail-like avatar I use on this forum is the actual logo for an S-Cargo taken from the front floor mat of my S-Cargo. It can also be found on the rear mud flaps.

I think the snail logo and the name is too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. :D

That one isn't mine, either. There's a brake shop on 16 Ave near Centre Street that owns one. Usually has it parked out in front of their shop on 16 Ave.

FYI: There are at least 7 S-Cargo's in Calgary...

- I own 1 S-Cargo right now (which is the second one I've owned)
- A certain men's wear shop owns 3 of them (they purchased my first one plus 2 others)
- A Calgary Z Club member owns one (which I shall not name because he might not appreciate it)
- Chris (steeno) owns 1 S-Cargo (he's already mentioned it on this forum, so I can mention it again)
- And that brake shop on 16 Ave owns 1 S-Cargo

Anyone know of any other S-Cargo owners in Calgary?!

Neat car, the inside looks rather nice and clean from what I saw.

I'm always for something that is original and unique.

Oops! Did I say that an S-Cargo was more practical than a Smart Car cuz it can haul 6-8 bodies?!

I meant to say that an S-Cargo was more practical than a Smart Car cuz it can carry way more than 2 bags of groceries on the way home from work (so I don't have to drive all the way home after work to pick up a bigger car that can haul the groceries, then drive all the way back to the grocery store).

BTW, I don't use my S-Cargo as a delivery vehicle... It's been my personal everyday car since Apr 2005 to commute to work, get groceries, haul stuff, and race the local garden slugs (if I give 'em enough beer, they'll let me win all the time).
