Guys, just looking for some input to minimize my losses while expediting a sale. What would be a fair price to ask for the car?

I'll get pictures up shortly, but here are the details:

1993 Eagle Talon TSi AWD
Teal with gray leather interior.
5 Speed - Grinds in going into 1st, 3rd and 5th - missed a shift, had to replace the clutch as a result. I drove it for 2 years like this because I didn't care to spend the cash on a rebuild.
200K KM
Cracked windshield
No rust, but has a few dings, scratches, etc.
Unmodified, original BC car, registered in AB now

I don't drive it, and it's just sitting insured in my garage taking up space so I'd like to make a fair deal to someone.

Thoughts?

$1.00.............$1000.00...........$5000.00...........$10,000.00.................$3,000,000.00

Close your eyes and touch the screen, wherever your finger lands is likely perfect.

yea 2500 is a little cheap for the turbo awd. even in the condition you mention. they normally go for a bit more then that.

Id say you would be lucky to see 2500 with the problems mentioned. If you want a quick sale anyway.

These cars are getting old and cheap.

People over value these Talon Tsi AWD's. If your car is having serious mechanical issues $2,500 sounds about right.

yeah, just because of what it "could be" with some work has no impact at price as it sits now... Its a 15yr old car with high kms and some serious issues that haven't been dealt with... I'll say 2500 but I'd be be looking over the rest of the car carefully to even pay that..

I agree 100%. I am currently looking for a Winter Talon and there is no way I would consider more than $2500 for that car, if the inspection comes out good.

Please re-read my post. I've made no mention of what it "could be with some work". I have no idea of what it "could be with some work" nor do I care what it "could be with some work". I'm only asking what it may be worth at this point in time. Thanks for the insight nonetheless.

Simply, I have a car that is taking up space in my garage, losing value, and costing money in terms of insurance. It's only worth what the market will pay. However, I don't want to give it away - I'd like to understand what a reasonable asking price would be for a car in that condition.

If the inspection came out "good"? How would it come out "good" if I've already indicated that it has some problems? I've driven it "as is" as beater for quite some time, and I suspect that someone else might like to do in kind - so it will be sold accordingly.

200,000km's high? Let's do the math here.....200,000/15=13,333km per year. Now considering average km's per year is about 24,000 let's do the math again. 24,000X15=360,000km's. So just so that we are clear on this the car has low km's. :D

Whoa now, I'm not saying anything bad against fatal, it was directed to the others putting a big $tag on it..

As for high kms, its a 15yr old dsm, 200k is high :dunno: sure its lower per yr, but 200k is still a lot on any old car..

No problem Supa Dexta. Just need to make some room in the garage.

I was thinking $2500 obo I guess I should just get it listed and see what happens.

All I was implying is there may be alot more items that need to replaced than your aware of or metioned in your post. Without doing a inspection it may very well be thousands to make it semi reliable. Thats all, not trying to bust your balls, just my opinion.

It's reliable, but not perfect. Just trying to gather an "as is" price.
