I dont know what to do!! I want to mod this car but somehow I dont think its going to be worth it..... its so unreliable.... and its gonna be $3000+ for rust repair and paint.... maybe i should buy something newer and keep the rex as a beeter?

Maintaining a car is usually cheaper than selling it and buying another used car. If you want to sell it and buy a new car I can see that. But if you're going to just buy another used car, who's to say it wont have the same problems yours has now or worse. I dont know your car, but maybe take it to a friend mechanic and try and get opinions on it. If you can spend $3000 and get it in good reliable shape and looking good with new paint and rust work, maybe it would be worth it.

Buy my Jetta - 1.8T 180hp.
All you need is a chip ($900) and you'll toast quite a few cars out there.

Very True....i was kinda kiddin about buying my car, wouldnt make much sense if one of the reasons you dont want to keep your car is new paint/rust repair....cause mine would need new paint next year. ( i would paint it anyway, if i kept it)....but it is faster! :D

Work on upgrading the drivetrain/driveability first THEN worry about the aesthetics:thumbsup:

I wouldn't dump $3000 into an unreliable 15-year-old car just so you can improve its appearance. Might be better spent on making the car more reliable as suggested by cocoabrova, or put the cash towards a newer car.

well.... i guess i shouldnt say its unreliable anymore cause i've replaced almost everything already :banghead:

so basically it needs a new suspension set up, some new wheels and body work and itll be in 'like new' condition.

so many people sell second hand rims around here. Those shouldnt set you back that much. I'm the same though. I am at the point of reworking my car over with a fine tooth comb before i put any money into it. I know it sucks dumping 2000-3000 into a car without actually seeing anything from the outside, but trust me, the last thing you want is to install a $5000 greddy turbo kit and have your engine blow and all your seals start leaking. Then you have no money to fix your car and you'll be selling that turbo kit on this site for $2000 obo.

As for turbocharging, yeah I'm hoping legendboy will help me with piping and on installing the junkjard turbo I got.

Thats true to a point. If his body and chassis are completely rusted out, there isn't much point in even touching it.

CRX is a good car, but for 3 grand you could get something nicer. It all depends on how you feel about the car. Sure you could get something nicer and faster, but if the car has some sort of sentimental value to you, you might want to keep it and make it nicer.

Just depends what you would rather have.
But my friend bought a '90 supra turbo for $4000.00. Other than the fact that its an auto, its an amazing car.

If you look, im sure you could find a nicer, faster, funner car for the same amount of money as it would take to fix the crx up.
