Description :
It really pains me to do this because this is a rare car and I love it to death. However as mentioned in my other FS thread, I have come to the conclusion that its time to get a car I have wanted for ages. That and it really bugs me that I have been staring at this car sitting in my driveway for the last year because I haven’t had and time to finish it.

I had plans to finish up the minor work to get it to pass the oop inspection and then do a 2L ITB’d 16v swap into it however I haven’t had the time nor money to finish it.

Anyways, enough talk. Onto the car.

As previously stated it is a 1989 Jetta Trophy edition which Im sure many of you know is very rare. It has a 1.8L 16v in it w/ ac.

The good:
-It’s a Trophy edition Jetta!!!!
-the body is in fairly good shape, from what I can tell it has been repainted.
-The interior is almost perfect with the exception of some slight wear on the drivers side seat from getting in and out.
-No rust around the cowl
-Could come with Brand new patec coilovers
-Brand new front strut mounts.
-Brand new rear poly strut mounts.
-Have brand new front ceramic pads and vented rotors. That will be included
(they don’t need to be replaced yet.)

The bad/What it needs:
-The car will need an out of province inspection
-the previous owner punched a hole underneath the driver side rocker while changing a tire (This will need to be patched to pass the oop inspection)
-Small amount of rust on the trunk and gas filler cap (typical)
-The engine needs the oil filter flange gasket replaced.
-Needs new rear rotors, pads and wheel bearings.
-Inner ball joint needs to be replaced (included)
-The engine doesn’t seem to be running perfectly. It starts and runs fine however it doesn’t seem like its running as well as it should be to me(Even though the car does pull strongly). It doesn’t burn any oil to my knowledge but does run rich (could be O2 sensor, which I could include) I tried tackling this issue and got the engine to run a lot better than it did when I got it. However I don’t know enough about these engines or have had the time to get it just right.
-it needs a new rear bumper cover as someone decided to back into my dd. I needed to pull the bumper to put on my driver.

Over all the car isn’t in bad shape at all. I estimate it would need about 4-500$ put into it to get it where it should be (that includes the oop price). The engine pulls strong from what I remember and doesn’t burn any oil to my knowledge. Transmission shifts smoothly, however it has the typical shifter slop, Minty interior, ect, ect, ect. I don’t really want to sell this car. But I would rather see it get finished than sit in my driveway for god knows how long (If I had a garage it would probably be done) lol.

PLEASE NOTE:

The car will come with either steelies that have some ok winter rubber on them or the teardrops that came with it. I haven’t decided yet.
IT WILL NOT COME WITH THE BBS’s THAT ARE PICTURED.

If you wanted I could finish up the work to the car and get it inspected for an additional 1000.

I know what this car is worth and Im sure most of you do too. This is a rare car to come by up here and is in good shape for the age. As stated it could be a very nice car with alittle attention.

On a side note. If there was interest I could also include almost everything needed to convert this car over to itb’s. all you would need to do is some slight fab work. I have a set of gsxr ITB’s, autotech cams, Megasquirt and harness, extra lower intake as well as some gauges and other odds and ends.

Extras :N/A
Asking Price : As the car sits I would like to get 3400 obo. It would come with a brand new set of patec holeshot coilovers.
If you don’t want the coils I can include the stock suspension, in that case I would like 2500 obo or I could include an FK cup kit for 2800 obo.

New Prices

Alright, its getting to the point where I need to start getting this stuff out of here. 2400 FIRM with the coilovers, 2000 FIRM with an fk cup kit, 1700 FIRM with stock suspension or 900 FIRM for the car without the trophy interior. The car runs, can drive away under its own power, and needs minimal work to get it done.

Keep in mind that the coils are worth 8-900, the interior is worth another 8-900 so basically your getting a good rolling chassis with a low milage 16v engine for 6-800$
