I have a friend saying his friend put a "stage 3" computer chip into his gtp and it raised his HP from 240 to 310, is this possible with the BEST chip? or is it :bullshit:

i'd say a 70 hp gain is a little exagerated.

the 1.8T vw/audi can gain around 40 from a chip, but even those are amazing results from just a chip

I'd say most "friend of a friend" stories that sound fake, are fake.

HP gains of that magnitude are achievable with a chip if the engine is turbo.

For example, an Audi S4 has 250 HP stock, but look at the HP gains you can get with a chip, plus other enhancements.

Anything beyond Stage 1 requires other stuff like upgraded turbos, downpipes, fuel systems, etc.

Not sure about a GTP though.

my understanding of superchargers is that you can only change the boost with pulleys... I didn't think that they were electronically controlled like turbos...

actually the term rice (in reference to vehicles) comes from people calling sport bikes rice.....i use the term rice to every import....yes yes very nice imports out there....but if its from japan or somthing like it i consider it rice.....im considered wheat which i find funny....but to each his own (not downing imports but somtimes ya cant tell some apart due to debadging)
