Itunes help - grouping songs?

So I have to add one of those "Top 100 singles" playlist of songs onto my Ipod, however I will want to remove them as soon as I can. If I simply add them, they will all be listed under their own artist/album and would be a bitch to delete each track. The "recently added" playlist has a list of them, but I can't delete the actual tracks off my computer from there.

How can I add these songs so that I can easily remove them after?

I've tried playing with the 'compilations' feature but I'm not sure if its the right way to do it or if I'm just retarded and can't work it.

can't you just delete the playlist when you're done to remove all the songs?

No because the playlist is deleted, but the songs are still in my iTunes library.
