I believe 2003 is the first year with the blower, STUPID fast, looks great, I wouldn't mind one.

I tried finding faults with it using an online search, found some bad things about the pre2003 years, but nothing 2003 specific. Electronics and suspension I've read are problems on earlier models, but again nothing I've seen badmouthing the 2003.

Being a Benz, maintenance isn't cheap if there are problems, but I'm sure you know that owning a Bimmer.

Good luck with the purchase.

Thats why I want the 03.

heated and chilled seats front and back. Looking forward to that.

If all goes well, I plan to do the stage 2 RENNtech to it as well. (ECU and camshaft upgrade)

Get the S55, they are fun sedans! We just did an '05 with RENNtech Stage 5 :burnout:

FYI, the RENNtech Stage 2 doesn't touch the camshafts.

Buy a Z06 instead

-cheaper to insure
-cheaper to repair

throw on a few mods and smoke the Benz :D

If the S55 has similar performance to the E55 I drove, it is a fast SOB. You will love it. Torque absolutely everywhere and tons of it.

As I am sure you know, the '03s are the first year with the supercharged V8. They have (in the E55's FOR SURE) been prone to heat soak issues and blower issues. Check that all maintenance and repairs/recalls have been done in those areas.

Otherwise, enjoy the car...we have a W220 in our family and it is a great 'ole sedan!

I have heated leather seats and i guess its okay in the winter.... but WOW do i ever wish i had chilled seats.. that would be awesome.. nothing is worse then a sweaty back... not at all a good feeling.
Go with it, its a damn nice car and i haven't ever heard anything bad with it.

Beautiful vehicle!! We have a W220 in the family too and it's an awesome car. Minor problems here and there but nothing outrageous... yet.

Importing MBZ = Impossible (ie: not worth it) because of the amount of shit you have to change/modify to get it to pass the inspections up here.
