Wnat to get rid of my 1988 Toyota MR2.

AW11, MK1, hardtop

Vehicle Details
Year : 1988

Make and Model : Toyota MR2

Exterior Color : White, Black Hood and Roof.

Interior Color : Black

Auto or Manual? : 5 Speed Manual

Odometer Reading : 225,000+ Km

Location of Vehicle : Daily Driven in Calgary. SW to be exact.

Mods:
-Tokico Illumina shocks (still work, but I've put miles into these and I've never had luck with them.. just a warning)
-Fensport Front springs w/ approx 250lb/in (kinda ghetto with my droop-limiting straps)
-Coilover sleeve with 2.5" ID 350lb spring 7" long in the rear
-Super long wheel studs.
-battery relocated to the front
-Eibach camber bolts up front
-Removed EGR
-Throttle cable simplified. (MR2 owners would know what I'm talking about)
-custom exhaust utilizing mandrel bends (everything after the manifold)

-Will come with somewhat worn winter tires on 14x6's
-Will come with stock springs that you can swap in should you decide to do so
-Will come with 4x 15mm and 4x 20mm hub centric spacers :( <- took a while to source these so I could fine tune and setup for entry or exit oversteer
-Will come with some front springs for Suspension Techniques kit I found at the junkyard.

Description :
-Cracked windshield (but this passed inspection last year, though I don't guarantee it will this year)
-Missing top windshield trim. Lost it somewhere in Crowchild.
-Has crapass "weeping" paintjob (read, lots of RUNS!)
-Front end accident history repaired with BFG and BTR (big eFfin hammer and Big thickass rod)
-the rust that the paintjob used to hide is now peeking out. so no secrets there
-absolutely intact floorpan, (save for a dent where previous owner tried to jack it up) as in no rust there!
-Clutch is getting old, but no slips yet (I'm a clutch baby-er)
-Starter catches a bit on cold startups
-Engine misses for the first ten turns on 0 and below startups
-Suggest warming up engine for a while on 0 and below startups
-Engine charges to redline no problem.
-Oil consumption is at 1.5L per 4000km
-Doesn't blow blue unless at high vacuum conditions such as sudden liftoff at High RPM (see photo where I enter slalom)
-No fifth gear popout and no grinds in tranny.
-Overall drives AWESOME!

Extras :

-Will come with extra red Early model bumper (similar to the one in the car right now as opposed to the pointier later 87-89 model ones)
-Two Straight Fenders L-R(one red, one white)
-two straight front valences L-R coloured silver
-MR2 radiator
-Extra rear control arms and strut rod (the ones that locate caster). You might wonder why I have this? Because The Later models are rarer in the junkyards. Because of what I use the car for (autox, rallyX and other... stuff. ahem) I thought spares would be nice. The fronts are shared with the early 85-86 model ones, so those are sourced easily from the junkyards.
-Front hood latch mechanism (right now I use hood pins)

**As is, the car doesn't even need these. It is DAILY DRIVER right now like I said. Lights move up and down fine. I passed safety inspection a year ago.

Price as described: $1400

This is the car that some of you may have seen me campaigning for the past 5 years with the CSCC. Time to let go.
This would make an awesome car to campaign in the winter autocross; guaranteed to develop those ninja like reflexes like it did for me ;) You will become god of opposite lock.
As a restorable project, it also isn't out of the question. Why do you think I would have gathered all those parts if I didn't think it were? Reason for selling really is that I need a change.

-No rust holes on the floor.

-No rust holes on rear trunk
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/randedge/MR2%20For%20Sale/IMG_0017.jpg

-There were two tiny rust holes on the front trunk but they were very trivial.

I also forgot to mention other things:

-I have Stainless steel braided lines
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/randedge/MR2%20For%20Sale/IMG_0001.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/randedge/MR2%20For%20Sale/IMG_0004.jpg

-I have the Brake Master Cylinder Bracket
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/randedge/MR2%20For%20Sale/IMG_0018.jpg

-I am running no rear swaybar right now, but you can. I have one from an 85 with the endlinks. The Chassis and the struts have mounting points. Although, there's a catch, one bolt is broken on one and you'd have to drill it out or just find a way to get it out.

-Interior is very very nice for its shape. Sorry about the pics for they are very dark. Had exposure up, but black interior just isn't photo friendly. Steering wheel's leather is peeling however.

-It is NOT gonna come with the spin turn knob.

-I have Hella H4's, but one of them has a rock chip. Function is unaffected.

-I cut up a bit of the catchbins on the engine bay vent for more air... but water intrusion is unaffected. At least I haven't had a problem.

-I've mentioned this: The car has had a very amateurish paintjob in the past. Has runs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/randedge/MR2%20For%20Sale/IMG_0006.jpg

-Also....
All the big bonuses such as the extra body panels aren't attached as you could see.. (Hmmn.. forgot a photo of those) It's up to the buyer to get them and take them home. So, buyer might have to bring a friend with a truck to get the bumper in and all that.

-Tire and Wheel combo are 14x6 Riken with +35 offset. Rubber is Kumho KW11. They were once studded, but there's more pebbles stuck to them now than there are studs.

-I previously posted a "lowball me if you want" post. I have since modified it. The more I think about it.. the more I think, the price is more than fair. I'm losing out a lot.

-Because the battery is up front, I've been putting the spare tire in the passenger side behind the seat.

That's all I could think of for now.

Other notable things:

-Plugs, wires, cap and rotors are all new last year (figure less than 8,000km. I went backpacking in Philippines winter of 06-07 so I had to store the car for some time. Also didn't do much driving outside of the city that summer.)

-The same goes for the alternator and Battery (when I stored battery, I had it trickle charging indoors... so it should be in a condition that is practically new)

-Has older Panasonic CD player/radio. Bad FM reception. CD player works nice; even plays burned CD's. Doesn't miss a beat even on the bumpiest Calgary Roads. However, if you've been playing a disc continuously for more than 2 hours (say on a road trip), you cannot put a new one in; gets too hot and finicky for that. So, you either play the same one over and over for the duration of your trip, or let it cool down before sticking a new one in.. (who uses discs nowadays?)

-I seem to be missing the under seat stock subwoofer. I've sat in an MR2 with one and trust me, you won't be missing much. 20 year old acoustics are crap anyway.

So, I'm still flexible. I just had to take out the "lowball me if you want" offer. Too many goons wanting to give me bloody $300...

Someone asked if this car would pass safety inspection. If it's Alberta's safety inspection, then I see no reason why it wouldn't pass. The windshield is perhaps the worst part, so it depends on the tech's discretion. I've seen far worse pass, and like I said it passed last year.

Since it is so hard to take photos of glass, this is roughly what it looks like traced with red line in MS paint.

More notable things:

-Rotors and brake pads on all fours, and rear calipers are new a year and a half ago. Yet, they seem to squeel like a bitch when I step on the brakes. Wonder why...
