Clear-coat metal?

Is anybody aware of a Calgary shop that can clearcoat metal (aluminum) panels relatively cheaply?

Answered my own questoin (hehe) - called around to some of the body shops recommended here (E.g., national collision) and they all told me the same thing - clear-coat won't stick to polished aluminum panels, only raw panels.

Clear coat can stick to polished panels.

You have to use an etching solution.

Use etching solution and then rinse with clean water.

It will never be as durable as something that has been sanded.

There is chemical adhesion and mechanical adhesion.

Without sanding the panel you won't have mechanical adhesion but with the proper etching you can still have chemical adhesion.
