Thats just a rumor
as it stands its been a concept up in the air that they are trying to pass and if they would have passed it, it would have been done by now
in other words, its going to happen but no one knows yet
there are still lots of cars that would be great to have. my favorite would be a 72 skyline

But whats the point. If you buy a JDM Supra , but cant afford an US one.. You will not be able to afford to maintain it or fix it

^Which is exactly why there are so many second hand jdm imports for sale.

I don't get the appeal of driving shitty old imports with left hand drive. They always look so shitty.

I think what people dont think about is the fact that most cars in this category arent babied their entire lives... so there will be maintenance. That being said... a 94 Supra should not be worth 40k usd.. and the JDM market will certainly help with that.

IMHO one of the main reasons to import a used car from Japan is that it wasn't available in N.America. e.g. the Subaru Impreza 22B,Skylines and well Canada never got the Evo's, which is a top tuner car at present.

I think what he meant is that if you don't have the kind of money that allows you to buy the Supra in the N.A market, you likely don't make enough money to justify owning and maintaining one.
You might be able to afford buying it, but can you afford driving it?

Doubtful. Look at 300ZX's and MR2's- LHD cars demand (and get) a premium in price of RHD models.

Education doesnt mean squat if thats not what you want to do in life. Im a welder, and i enjoy it.When im done my technical training in two years, I will be making plenty of money. I could never be cooped up in an office or something like that. Does that mean that i dont deserve a nice car? I think 40,000$ for a 12 year old supra is a bit retarded.....IMO.
Just had to say my .02 about education VS having a nice car.

Education doesn't necessarily mean cushy office job my friend.
But yes i'll agree, i would never pay 40k for a supra.

I know, i agree. Education doesnt mean cushy office job....but if your a tradesman, alot of trades dont require much. ie. welding requires grade 9 education, and thats only because there is some geometric equations involved. Mechanic....grade 11 or something, lol. Both make wicked cash..
Demand dictates price....the less there are , the more they cost. If there are more coming, and the price is half that of the ones currently here, the ones wishing to sell their LHD equivalents will have to lower their price atleast 1/3 to make it worthwhile for a guy who has a RHD version to get rid of the hassle of RHD for a LHD. Thats my opinion on that anyways.

there are hundreds of mk4's in the usdm market for under 20k
and i figure that importing one from japan will cost you about the same lhd FTW lol

i dunno what market u guys r looking at but usdm 94's dont go for 40000k fools unless they are already modded to shit with a big single and full standalone

^^^ i stand corrected....the last time i checked prices on a supra they were really expensive, however that was a couple years ago. They arent that much. But then, do you think the importers are going to be stupid enuff to bring JDM supras in and sell them for USDM price? I doubt it. most likely they will still go for considerably less than the USDM counterpart.
