So I dropped my laptop...

:( so my leg caught the powercord connect to my laptop and it fell off my desk...which is about 2 feet high. the machine itself works fine but the LCD is messed....now its not cracked by the looks of it, but im not sure.

The top 1/4 of the screen is fine, when i turn it on it shows my desktop ect...but the bottom 3/4 is all horiztonal lines where I can barely see my desktop....only when I put presure on the hinges of the screen it gets a bit clearer but the the lines are still there.


...does anyone know where I can go to get this this fixed?

I would check ebay for the lcd screen and install it yourself as it only takes about an hour to replace one. If you can find one on ebay or locally, I can give you a hand to repair it anytime. What is the model number and manufacturer and I will see if I can help find you one.

I've seen a few on ebay its an HP dv2000 14.1 widescreen...

does anyone locally repair these screens or is it pretty much toast

Sucks that its a widescreen. I got a few 14.1 inch panels at home that would prolly work for you.

The screen is a gonner. You can buy one on ebay and I could install it for you, but its up to you. Screens usually go for 150-300 on ebay...and over 600 from manufacturer

should i buy the whole bezel.....i guess the housing cables and lcd screen or just buy the lcd replacement screen....the differene between the two is about $100
