I was driving in a 50 zone, speeding, but i dont know how fast i was actually going. Then a cop in a ghost car driving the opposite way, pulls a u-turn and said i was going 67 in a 50. on the ticket it said he got me using radar. Is it at all possible for a cop to determine how fast i was going while he was driving the opposite way, and do i have grounds to fight this ticket?

Yes they can and no you can't... Sorry man...

Ofcourse they can. Radar works both ways. Calculates current speed of vehicle that radar is mounted on, calculates your speed coming towards it, simple math equation, and whola, you got a speeding ticket

Yes it works but it is not simple mathematics... You are talking about some pretty serious physics and hefty calculations there. If you are really interested you can read up on relativity and doppler shifts...

By simple i ment for a computer. Yes indeed, it is physics and speed calculations and distance to time and all that, but simple enough for the equipment that is used

You would need to both be going in a parallel to each other for it to work no? Like not around a curve or am I wrong?

HAHA doppler shift.

Reminds me of the red bumper sticker that reads "If this is blue, you're going too fast"
