Hey guys,
A couple weeks ago I wandered down to Shaganappi Chev and was curious about what I'd get for my Suburban that was just raping me on gas. One thing led to the next and this ended up in my driveway. Enjoy

This is my first ever new vehicle and I'm really liking it so far. Watch for pics of the smoked tail lights when I get around to it.

p.s I know a good 80% of you guys are big import guys but, Chevrolet has 0% interest for 60 months on right now. That was a nice surprise and was a good reason to buy new.

just out of curiosity, i am thinking of getting the same truck, does yours have the inline 5? If it does, how you liking it? i am liking the looks of the GMC canyon, i know your is the chevy version, just can't remember the name.

also, i am taking you financed it, just wondering on a ball park figgure for your payments?

hey spikers,
mine has a 3.7 I5, I'm takin it easy on the engine (ie no redline drags) but still have gotten it up into the 4k rpm range and it'll get ya moving pretty good. On deerfoot and crowchild it drives really nicely, sittin at 2-2.5k rpm at 100ish. there is enough torque that u can get around someone at that speed with very little effort.

I'm financin it and I had a trade in and a down payment. I believe though with 0 down it was sittin at 480/month.

Nice truck. I was looking at the Colorado / Canyon Crew cabs and they are nice for sure. Lots of guys will tell you that the Toyota & Nissan are better, which the probably are. However with the 0% interest and the lower purchase price, this will probably cost you about $10,000 less over the next five or six years. You can fix a lot of stuff for $10,000. Never mind the fact that GM now has the five year / 100,000 km powertrain warranty as well.

Good job!

Needs to go lower to close some of that fender gap  , the old gen Xtreme sits so much lower I thought.

Looks awesome though.

kaput,
i just checked the window sticker, it posts 21mpg or 13.6L/100 city and 30mpg or 9.3L/100 highway. My driving is fairly even so realistically it'd be 25 mpg
That is the exact same as our volvo so in a way its comparable to a car. They both are I5's, but the volvo has a turbo. I dunno if the turbo would add to the mileage or not, but that as good of example as I can think of.
hope that helps
