How to find out winter tire size for vehicle?

I have a 2002 jetta, and I want to find out what size winter tires I need to get how can i go about doing this?

It should be the same size as the factory tires that came with your car. If you bought the car used and it came with summers on them, try the car's manual.

Or perhaps go to http://www.tirerack.com and select your car and it should tell you the size of your factory tires...

Actually, for winters, I would suggest a tire size about 20mm narrower than stock. Add another 5% to the sidewall to compensate.
