get a cheap ($20) router and bridge it.

Thanks, but no. I like the fact that I'm able to utilize the Wireless N speeds, and if I bridge a regular G onto that, then it's always going to step down to standard G, defeating the whole purpose.

At least with the Wifi adapter, it'll only drop to G when the Xbox is on.

megavolt: that isnt a wireless network adaptor. its so you can use stuff like a wireless 360 controller on a pc.

Oh, I haven't looked into bridging much and wasn't aware that bridging would drop your speed. You *could* just unplug your router when your not online, and that should avoid the speed drop...

OT: but do you notice a difference between the N and the G? I'm running a wireless G router for my comp and 360 and my internet speeds seem just as fast as when I was hardwired into the router...

Even wireless B can handle most internet speeds (probably not the Nitro service)... but for home networking the difference will be huge between G and N.

I do notice significant speed differences between N & G. When I have just N running, I get a real data throughput of approx 70-80Mb. When the G is connected, that drops to around 40-45.. when the G is active, down to around 30ish.

Since in bridging the G would always be active, it's not a real good solution for me. I would happily pay for a N bridge, same cash as the retail wifi.. so that the xbox can see the full wlan speed...but I figure that until that happens, then I'll just buy a used wifi adapter and hope it works ok..
