Going to be in Calgary this upcoming weekend and plan on doing some shopping. What's a good shop that has a nice sized collection of Tissot watches (mens)?

Costco sells Tissot - selection is limited but they have had a few nice pieces at times. Great prices. I dont think theyre an authorized dealer but that pretty much means if youre watch breaks within the manufacturers warranty period, Costco will replace it or refund your money which IMO is better than a warranty.

Do you have a specific one in mind? T-touch? PR series? Sport? Is this an every day watch you would wear?

Thanks for the help guys... saw the list on Tissot website but didn't know which ones were the better ones. Not looking at the super high end watches, just the general T-Touch and more specifcally I want to look at a Silen-T with black face.

Sounds like market mall is the place to go.

Tissot watches usually can be had for 15% to 30% off MSRP (as can most watches). So if you know which one you want, go into the store, take a look at the watch, and then offer them a price at 75% of what theyre asking. Im certain that they will give it to you or make a counter offer at least. If they dont, then walk, and go to the next dealer on our list. Dont pay full price. Someone will give you a discount.

Ya, I know all about the bartering. Been looking at a Seiko Sportura (SNA481) and the stores I've been in range from a high of $650 +5% off to $520 +20% off. Some just won't budge while others are a lot more lenient.

Already on the ebay watch list (pun not intended), thanks for the link though. Just about bought it but I'm holding off until I see a couple Tissots in person.

Just making a point, whatever you buy you can get for almost 1/2 off by buying online.

Yep, that's what I intend on doing unless I find that one miracle shop that will drop the price that much. I usually shop by looking in person, then reading reviews online, then looking at prices online vs in store.

Becareful with online dealers. Many are not authorized dealers. At best, you wont get a warranty. At worst, youll get a watch that has the the serial number scratched off on the back of it.

Seikos, Citizens, and watches at that level always go on sale for up to 35% off. I work and live buy many jewelry and watch shops that I regularly browse through and those are two brands that you should never pay full price for. Higher end watches as well as all jewelry is negotiable but YMMV especially in Cgy since theres a lot of disposable income these days.
