Hi guys,
Anyone have any info regarding Redline MTL or MT-90 for a 1991 MR2 Turbo? Toyota recommends a 75W90 manual transmission oil, which would mean I should go with MT-90. But I have also read some people have put MTL in, and noticed shifts are faster/smoother than with MT-90....anyone have experience with these products?
Would putting in a non-recommended weight oil do any damage? Thanks.

I just changed the tranny oil in my MR2 to MT90. I wasn't expecting much but the shifts do seem marginally smoother, esp the 1-2. From what I understand, MTL will work even though the weight is 75W80. Can't compare though, I've never tried the MTL. Redline recommends 75W90NS for the MR2, go figure...

I use the mt-90, huge improvement in shifting over standard transaxle fluid, gets rid of those notchy shifts.Never tried MTL

Yeah, I know the more serious guys use 75W90NS, but it is a tad on the expensive side...for me, anyways.
Well, thanks for your inputs, heading down to mopac right now to pick up some MT-90...

I used MT-90 b4 and it wasn't very good. I have 75W90NS in my 93 tranny and its much better. But I think I will use GM Synchromesh next time.
Redline people told me MT-90 is too slippery for my application.

Midship,
You have 93, so I assume you have a LSD. Most MR2 boards recommend MT-90 for non-LSD, and 75W90NS for LSD versions, pls correct if I'm wrong.
I think I'm gonna stick with MT90 for now, as that's what I've heard works best for 91...
