for the record..that is no longer a mini cooper..it is now a honda

nothing i hate more than people putting honda engines in minis and still refering to them as minis
sacrilegious

method

The Auto Trader   LMAO. Is that where you get your official information? What about actual manufacturer info. Sorry bud, it's VTEC. Honda says so. LOL.

Just take it. Now you're getting corrected in your use of a hyphen in VTEC.

*lol sorry, had to flame you for that one* ??

Allow me to flame you for not knowing it's VTEC then.

oh yes, I must have forgotten the BLINDING POWER that is the sub 1000cc mini engine. hailed as the best thing since sliced bread, many are unaware that jaguar actually uses them as the base plant for their forumla 1 engines.

as a side note, my mineralli scooter engine is tough competition for the aprilia motoGP bikes.

You have to understand that Mini owners are like a religuos cult.;) They get in your blood and you become a purist. I've owned a few Mini's and can agree that they are a ton of fun, even with the 850. But I can apprieciate the performance gain, and wow factor of a VTEC powered Mini. Alot of the "purists" will also scream bloody murder at the thought of the New Mini, being called a Mini. In fact most will argue that it isn't a Mini, it's a BMW, but I like it.:D Don't take her the wrong way, once you own one you will understand.:burnout:

I can't agree with that. It's still MOSTLY Mini and PARTLY Honda. Ask anyone on the street what it is, and not one person will call it a Honda.

At least they put a great engine in it! :nut:
Yes its a 1.6L engine..B16B..some articles are full of mistakes. And how is that sacrilege? At least that cars fast now.. it puts down 12s runs for fuck sakes..

in defense to mini girl . she has a point which is individual to her opinion of minis becuase she owns a mint condition classic mini . that's what she wants and that's what she has . and as far as the speed of a stock mini . who cares . most of you have stock cars with intake and exhaust . is that modding? sure is, for ameteurs.

regarding the vtec swap in a classic mini . it's very very very popular . in fact, it's such a popular swap that i'm amazed that you so called "enthusiasts" are impressed by it .

method
07-09-2003, 02:39 PM
oh right, you're not impressed a car with that small of a wheelbase and that lightweight that runs a 12.5.

what the fuck ISNT there to be impressed by?

"man I see rally cars on tv all the time! they're not impressive!"

something has to be rare to be impressive? news to me.

atomic
07-09-2003, 03:01 PM
oh i'm impressed alright . but it's very popular . everytime i read about the vtec swap in a classic mini i am impressed . i'd love to do that swap . it'd be hilarious to pull up to a stang in your 12 second mini!

i'm just saying, give the gurl a brake .. she has an opinion . no need for personal attacks . she doesn't belong to a "cult" :P .. not anymore of a cult then the honda owners hating domestics .

why can't we all just get along??

szw
07-09-2003, 03:53 PM
Yeah the mini does have a cult following...however thats a term used, not a derogratory term as you seem to think it is. heh
