Original thread in campus chat but I figure since this portion of beyond is more directed on people already working the field it's also appropriate to place a thread here.

I'd get the technologist diploma if you have the time and money. I know at my company they very rarely hire anyone with just a CAD certificate, and a lot of the project leads and engineers piss on anyone that isn't a technologist. It's stupid, since nothing I learned in my technologist course is in any way more helpful than what I learned when I took my steel detailing course (which was essentially just a CAD operators course, with a few lectures on steel detailing)

As for architectural vs piping... I don't know. Architects and Pipers are both incompetent. Civil/Structural FTW :thumbsup:
