going to breakfast with some friends. but Denny's and Humpty's and Rickie's are all gross and greasy. Anyone recommend a decent place for breakfast on a sunday morning in the Shawnessy Area if possible or somewhere's in the southeast.

I'm not sure where all the Nellie's Cafe locations are but the two down on 17th Ave SW are AWESOME! I go there almost every Saturday morning for some Ukranian Break-the-fast...mmmm...so good!

Smugglers on MacLeod for their Sunday Brunch. $15.95 for all you can eat, including juice and coffee. They have tons of stuff, waffles, omlettes and steak, crab etc. Be prepared though, it's about 45 min wait if you don't have reservations. But it's worth it.

Glenmore Inn for Brunch....call ahead for reservations.

Deerfoot Inn & Casino, again, brunch. It was pretty good.

Cora's FTMFW! The line up is huge tho... but well worth it. We usually pig out by ordering a breakfast and a crepe... won't have to eat again till 8 or 9pm!

I live in Arbour Lake, and I'm more than happy to drive 45 minutes to get there haha. It's that good!

But do you stop or just drive by?

Keep on, pursuing to the next stop, bust a left and head to the next block?

The block was dead? Yo, so you continued to A1A 17th Avenue?

Girls were freezin' cold wearing way more than bikinis,
Rockman lovers driving M3'arini's? Jealous, cause you're out getting mine,

Nellie's is freaking terrible. I went to the 17th ave location and there were flies in there and it was mid december. The eggs and potatoes were under cooked. Avoid Nellies, there is 100 better places to eat brunch then Nellies.

The Carriage House Inn on Macleod Trail has an awsome Sunday Brunch. Smugglers has an awsome Sunday Brunch as well. You pay a little more then Nellies, but you get a way way way better Brunch/Experiance.

Nellie's on 17th is TERRIBLE. The only way one could stomach their dogfood and awful service is if you were hung over :nut:

You should make the trip to The Galaxie Diner on 15th Ave. and 11th (?) St. SW. Fantastic food, the only downside is that it is ususally lined up outside.

Nellies is pretty crappy these days. Galaxie is good. The Belmont is pretty much the same as Galaxie, its in Marda Loop.

I like diner deluxe better than both though

Nellie's is TERRIBLE!

The only people that eat there are still drunk from the night before and would eat cat food if there was nothing else to eat.

I personally prefer Diner Deluxe and Avenue Diner. The Belmont/Galaxie are also pretty good but I always need to take a shower afterwards to wash the grease smell out of my skin.

We go to Mother Tuckers on 10th, great sized buffet with pretty much ANYTHING you want. Whether it be Roast Beef and Mashed potatoes, to Belgian Waffles and Strawberry's, all for about 25 per head....

Carriage House Inn has good brunch buffets on Sunday.
The farmers market also has a lot of different little resturant things that offer good breakfast specials.

We had Smugglers today for Brunch. It was horrible. We only waited about 10 min to get in because it was too late to get a reservation when I called Friday night.

I use to tell people to go to all the time, I guess we haven't been in a while. They use to have Prime Rib cut right there and hot soups like they do during the evenings.

The meat was dry, the dessert was bad, the fruit was hard and everyone was fighting for crab legs and mussels which were just boiled with nothing on them. Not even lemons in a dish. This is a steak house, known for their meat. The only beef they had was Salisbury steak...and roast beef pre-sliced in some funky gravy. Which in my opinion was yesterdays leftovers.

I guess it's just one more place to scratch of my list of things that used to be good.

I would recommend checking out:
1) Cadence in Bowness. It's an artsy type of place that sells food like Nellies (minus the flies).
2) Pfantasic Pannoke House (I butchered the spelling but it's just off of Crowchild and Glenmore Tr). The ginger bread with Coffee is pretty good and their crepes are great / mega filling too.
3) The Crepery in Kensington. Good crepe place as well. It's across the street from Kilian (furniture store) and you have to go down the stairs to find it. Can be a bit tricky to find.

Coast Plaza Inn in the NE has a decent brunch.

But nothing beats Dim Sum

Pannoeke House I love, but my daughter had wanted prime rib and I didn't realize that Smugglers doesn't offer it at Brunch anymore.

Never heard of the place in Bowness and will have to check it out as we are right in Valley Ridge. We tried to get into the Wedding Pavillion they just restarted their winter brunch.

3 of the 4 of us love Dim Sum, we practically live in chinatown as it is. We even had our Christmas dinner there. haha!

CRMR I didn't know the Ranche did Brunch, but will definitely be trying that. CRMR is where we buy all our Elk and Bison stuff it's soooo good. The Elk smokies are unbelievable!

Thanks you guys!

The Galaxy Diner is also pretty freakin' sweet as well. Their milkshakes are probably as good or better than Peter's.

It's not in the SE but if you don't mind going a bit out of your way DINERS DELUXE has great food, and not overly pricey either. I could be wrong, but i think they only serve breakfast foods. It's on Edmonton Trail. Can be quite busy though at times....

3) The Crepery in Kensington

I agree this place has good crepes I went in one morning when i decided I would rather walk around downtown than go to class.
