Anyone know what happened in Silver Springs? The schools were in lockdown, so where the schools in Montgomery?

someone was saying it was a man running around with a gun, threating to shoot people but not quite sure better watch the news at 11

my little bro had a vball tournament at montgomery.
dont think they had a lockdown..

yup they were in lock down right at 2:40 my daughter goes to Montgomery. They didn't get out until 3:20 we got an email from the Principal I copied cut and pasted it below

I don't know if I will be up at 11....so tired, but I would like to hear what happened. My son who goes to school in Silver Springs said the teachers were saying it was something at the pub by the police station and that a gun was involved. When I took my kids to martial arts after all the moms had different stories of what happened. I have checked the city site and QR77 but nothing so far.

Dear parents/guardians,

I am writing to inform you of a situation that impacted our school today.

At about 2:40pm, Calgary Police Service ordered our school administration team
to lock all of our doors and not allow anyone to enter or leave the building due to
a safety concern in the neighbourhood. Staff and students acted immediately in
implementing the school’s safety procedures.

At 3:20pm the police informed us they had the situation under control and we
could resume normal operations. As a result of this incident, some of our buses
were late in dropping students off.

I would like to thank our students for their patience and co-operation during this
incident. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at 777-7450.

reminds me of the loony who was running around with a gun at churchill a few years ago and caused a few schools to get shut down LOL

Global news last night said the lockdown happened at 2 schools Montgomery/Bowness...but never even mentioned WO Mitchell or Silver Springs, I highly doubt it was different incidents, but all the parents are flapping about lack of information on what really happened.
