Please help my friend NOT buy clear tails for his RSX Type-S

As the title mentions, my friend just purchased a white RSX Type-S. He thinks he would like a set of clear tails.

Please post your honest to god, no holds barred, opinion of such purchase!!!!

Are you talking about the illegal clear or the IS200 Toyota Altezza?

If it's the clear I'm thinking about, tell him that's so 1996, what's he going to do next install "coloured" bulbs??? Who's he trying to impress, the local high school girls?

Also tell him he has to remove the rear bumper to get the lamp assembly out, unless he wants to cheat (I THINK you can) and reach from the underside with a really really long phillips screw driver; cause there are screws from underneath the tail lamps.

He's better off spending his $200+ else where.

If you do plan on doing it, mine aswell get a 4" dual-tip exhaust, unpainted baby blue body kit, and some spinners.


Or you can just get this nice exhaust tip..

Comes in Andolized Stainless steel or regular stainless steel.

Awesome!! Funny thing is he is Filipino and is always eating rice. (not because he is filippino, but because he never stops eating. EVER. And it is usually rice)

I've had a CF spoiler, went back to stock.
I've had decal stripes and roll calls, went back to stock.
I've had clear tails, went back to stock.
I've had 18" wheels with banana peel rubber, went back to a 17 that performed as well as looked good.
I've had a CF hood and trunk, ok, never went back to stock but I painted over both of it.
I've had a body kit, and I'm keeping it. :D

My car has gone through all the phases and all the shit. If anyone has seen the new paint job they know it's far from looking stock right now, but it's the little things like spoilers and taillamps that you always grow out of. And the scene has most certainly grown out of it. That's what's more important. If you want to have your car stand out from the rest, try to think of something original you can do to make it your own. A drop? A lip spoiler? A custom exhaust? But clean will win.

But then again, maybe he just needs to go through it and get it out of the system.
