I need some advice...

I haven't kept up to date with all the gaming technology since I last bought a computer. (When the geforce 4 ti4800 was the it;)) So basically I'm looking to buy everything; mobo, card, processor, ram etc but I don't want to spend more than $1600-1800.

Here are the things I was looking at:

Processor: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=10659&SID=239614

Card: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=9796&SID=239614

Mobo: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=10936&SID=239614

RAM: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=10614&SID=239614

Soundcard: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=10015&SID=239614

Then I've picked a few other minor things...600W power supply, dvd burner, case, duel hard drives etc, but I didn't think it was worth listing those.

So keeping in mind my budget, if any of you guys know much about whats good these days, could you tell me if these are good selections and if I should make changes to some of these items? I want it to run most the new games with a good amount of preformance and to be somewhat decent in the next few years as I don't update my setup very often.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the Mobo is compatible with the Processor. As for processors, I was looking at two, a duel core and quad core for the same price.

The 3ghz duel core 4mb cache one I posted

and this: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=9637&SID=239614

More cache, but it's only 2.4ghz. I'm not fully sure how much speed matters anymore, I've been told cache is a big deal these days so maybe the 2.4 quad core with 8mb cache is better than the 3ghz 4mb cache duel core?

As for the duel HD's, I just found something cheap lol: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=5968&SID=239614

Thanks for the link natejj, I'll give it a look now.
