Cause the process of downloading off the camera, converting, storing and the slim possibility of sharing was not very appealing.

Where as taking amazing photos and sharing is so much easier.

The Tripod was thrown in for free when I purchased the Camcorder and the camera/backpack and 2GB memory card were thrown in for free with the camera.:D

LOL, with my SD630 point and shoot.

I think I got a good price, not sure.

For the Camera, extra lense, 2GB mem card, carrying case and tripod it came to $1244 taxes included.

Nice choice... however I had that tripod with my XTi, and almost lost my camera because of it. The head of the tripod fell apart and I had to dive to save my camera lol... so ya just a heads up on that one.

I've also nearly lost my SLR to a cheap tripod, a slight breeze can be enough to knock one over.

I don't consider this Tripod a "cheap" design. Its very sturdy, no chance in hell of a breeze knocking this over.

It stands 55" tall when fully extended. A perfect travelling tripod IMO.

Its this one.
