I did a search and did not see anything on this, so I thought I would create a thread seeing there are few guys/girls that play in NCHL.
From what heard they are looking to build a new arena down in the south somewhere by Sheppard road ( i could be wrong) but are asking teams to come up with $12,000 for membership.

From what I gather its going to be a simple arena with three sheets of ice indoor, 2 out door that will have a cover over them, a lounge.

Do you think its worth paying 12k per team to get better ice time, or just transfer to HNA? If anyone can shed little more light on this topic that would be great?

I think that Calgary is achieving the population where Sport Specific Venues are now becoming Viable.

ie.. Calgary Soccer centre, Rally Pointe, Volleydome ect...

There are propably more.

Its bound to happen for Hockey.

Private investment will find a way to make money off of the shortage if ice time here in the City.

Get in on the ground floor and maybe you can grandfather your rates for a few years while the new members are charged more.

As to if its worth 12k I can't say....
