laptop problem

I went to use my laptop earlier today and when I opened it up to get it out of hibernation mode and everything was fine and then suddenly the screen went black. I waited a couple minutes and nothing happened so I restarted the computer and now it is saying that it has detected a problem with windows and it cannot be opened. I have tried to restart it in safe mode with the same result. A blue screen that says windows cannot be started. I have not installed any new hardware ever or software recently and this is the first time this has happened. Any ideas how I can fix this?

i had this same problem with my lap top .. couldnt figure it out ... someone told me to jsut reformat my comp and after that it was fine .. only thing is everything goes poof haha
