Shortly after buying this car, the motor blew the dip stick out (bad rings). The oil pressure light never came on and so the motor seized. I put a new motor in it, out of an R33, as well as a pull style transmission out of an R33. At the same time we looked everything under the hood up and down and straightened out all of the wiring, plumbing, etc. When the clutch was out, I took it to Edmonton brake and clutch who let me know it had 80% left. I replaced the throwout bearing, timing belt, water pump, idlers, misc. belts and a bunch of gaskets, then had everything reinstalled. All of the work was done by a certified mechanic and friend.
The car pulls incredibly hard - as most any 500+ HP car should. It is running rich however, and a re-tune of the HKS ECU for 91 octane gas would do the car well. Although this car is not perfect, it has more than the asking price in mods alone. The GT25 turbos are ball bearing and spool incredibly quick for their size. The exhaust is completely stainless steel and as you all know, that sort of stuff isn't cheap!
For those of you that have been watching the news, Dell Canada just laid a bunch of people off and I was one of them. I'm now jobless and in school and due to that, I'm not elligible for EI. I have much more money into this car than what I'm selling it for (cost of car + transportation from B.C. + cost of the new motor + cost of the install + timing belt, water pump, idlers, etc) and if it doesn't sell at this price, I'll find other, smaller things to sell to tide me over and cover next semester's tuition.
