View Full Version : No Evo 8's coming to Canada ??

I just checked out Mitsu's Canadian website to look at the Evo 8 , and it's not listed. Is it not coming to Canada ??

Eventually maybe, this year no. Couldn't meet our higher crash test standards.

I don't believe we're getting the Evo for the 2004MY, just an upgraded Lancer called the Ralliart. It's supposed to have a 2.4-litre sohc MIVEC (Mitsus version of VTECi/VVTLi) engine with 162hp/162 lb.-ft torque. So at least it'll compete better with the cars in its class. It's too bad, the Evo is a bad ass car even if it has 4 doors.

from what I heard from our dealership tech...the evo failed the 5mph front end crash test largely courtesy of the intercooler...bummer...they'll probly end up switchin to a top mount a'la WRX to get it to meet standards...but after just changing it to meet US standards this year...I think it's safe to say that that won't happen for a couple years yet...maybe 2005 if that:banghead:
