View Full Version : Buying a Tacoma in the states

Hey,

I have been looking at the prices of new Tacoma's in the states and they are about 8k cheaper than the camparable truck in Canada (using the value of the dollar being equal). Ive heard alot about Toyota not honouring warranties. Has anybody dealt with this yet or can you provide any info? Also has anybody imported a 2003-2005 Tacoma into Canada and what did you have to do to register it?

My buddy just bought a Toyota truck from Texas. He just drove it back here last week. I don't know the details tho. I can ask and see how he managed.

Toyota honors US warranty in Canada. It even says so at toyota.ca or you can phone the number for their head office or you can look at www.apa.ca

Lexus is the company that doesn't honor warranty in Canada froma US car, not Toyota.

a coworker here just bought a rav4, she is actually goign to pick it up this weekend, toyota sent her a letter stating that they do not approve of dealers selling to Canadians for export, however they will honor the warranty.

Yes Toyota will honor the warranty. My co-worker just bought a new Highlander from the States and will be picking it up next month and he confirmed with them that they will honor the warranty.

I just brought back a new 2007 Tacoma 4x4 Access Cab SR5. Was rather easy to do.
